However, the provisions on notification in the TRIPS Agreement were not necessarily very detailed and clear. Several aspects of the notification procedures needed to be clarified, such as timing, format and language of notifications. In other areas of the WTO Agreement detailed discussions had already taken place and notification formats had been designed. He proposed that the Chairman hold informal consultations on this matter.
