The Intellectual Property Act 2014 (Commencement No 4) Order 2015
The Order brings into force on 6 April 2015 sections 10(2) to (11) of the Act. Section 10(2) of the Act is already in force only to the extent necessary to appoint the appointed person (S.I. 2014/1715). This Order gives full effect to new sections 27A and 27B of the Registered Designs Act 1949 which introduces a new route of appeal against decisions made by the registrar relating to designs. Users now have a choice of using either a person appointed by the Lord Chancellor (an “appointed person”) or the High Court.
