Patents (Trans-Tasman Patent Attorneys and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2016
The Patents (Trans-Tasman Patent Attorneys and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2016 makes a minor, technical amendment to the grounds related to opposing the grant of a patent under the Patents Act 2013. It also inserts a new Part 6 to the Patents Act 2013 which gives effect to the joint patent attorney registration regime between New Zealand and Australia.
2 Commencement (1) Part 1 is deemed to have come into force on 13 September 2014. (2) Part 2 comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions. (3) If any provision of Part 2 is not in force at the close of 24 February 2017, it is repealed on the day after that date. Section 2(2): Part 2 brought into force, on 24 February 2017, by the Patents (Trans-Tasman Patent Attorneys and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2016 Commencement Order 2017 (LI 2017/2).
