The Consolidated Plant Variety Protection Act, No. 1131 of 3 July 2020
The Act contains provisions on the rights for plant breeders to have their new plant varieties protected and to the entitlement to charge royalty for the use of propagating material of the protected variety and liability to punishment. It contains provisions implementing parts of the European Parliament and Council Directive 98/44/EC of 6 July 1998 on the legal protection of biotechnological innovations (OJ 1998 no. L 213, p. 13) and provisions implementing parts of the European Parliament and Council directive 2004/48/EC of 29 April 2004 on the enforcement of intellectual property rights (OJ 2004 no. L 195, p. 16).
