6. Brief description

This Order, which will apply from 1 January 2002, sets out the fees payable in euro amounts for services provided by the Patents Office in respect of patents, trade marks and designs. All fees have been reduced, with some eliminated. All payments made before 1 January 2002, in respect of fees that are due before the end of 2001, will be the subject of the legislation in force at the time of payment. Fees notified before the end of 2001, but due in 2002, may be paid in advance at the rate payable in 2002. All payments made on or after 1 January 2002 will be at the rates payable in 2002.
