Pursuant to Article 63.2 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, the Government of the Republic of Senegal notifies the TRIPS Council that its national legislation relating to industrial property law is the Bangui Agreement adopted on 2 March 1977. It takes this opportunity to inform the Council that the revision of this Agreement is under way, in particular with a view to harmonizing some of its provisions with those of the WTO relating to TRIPS. In accordance with Article 70.8 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights, the Government of the Republic of Senegal notifies the TRIPS Council of the following: 1.The Industrial Property and Technology Service of the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry (Service de la propriété industrielle et de la technologie, Ministère de l'énergie, des mines et de l'industrie, BP 4037; Telefax (221) 22 55 94; Telephone (221) 32 07 26) is the official body responsible for receiving applications for patents for inventions in the field of pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products. 2.The formalities for filing applications for patents and the applicable fees are those laid down in the existing Senegalese legislation.
