Trade Marks (Amendment) Act 1996 (Act Nº 25 of 1996)
This Act introduces the protection of well known Marks; the duration of a trade mark is for a period of ten (10) years. Under the previous legislation, registration was fourteen (14) years and introduces a new section to deal with the unauthorized use of a trademark in relation to goods.
