The Law of Ukraine “On Foreign Economic Activity”
The Law establishes legal regulation of all types of foreign economic activity in Ukraine, including, in particular, foreign trade and economic and scientific-technical cooperation. Article 16 of the Law introduces, to provide for the protection of intellectual property rights, the requirement of licensing for exportation and importation of goods. Article 17 prohibits exportation and importation of goods with infringements of intellectual property rights. Under the Law, intellectual property right, in particular, the right to an industrial design, may be a form of capital exports (imports). In Ukraine, exports and imports of goods involving infringements of intellectual property rights, is prohibited. Under the Law, intellectual property right, in particular, the right to an invention or utility model, may be a form of capital exports (imports).
