The representative of Japan thanked the W/52 coalition for organizing the informative side event held on the previous day, but emphasized that his delegation was not in a position to support proposal W/52. He wished to stress that any negotiations on this matter in the future would need to be strictly in accordance with the mandate for establishing a multilateral system of notification and registration of geographical indications for wines and spirits.
