172. The Chairman suggested, in the light of consultations on how the Council should report on the three agenda items, that the following addition be made to the Council's Annual Report 2005:
"The Council for TRIPS, pursuant to paragraph 19 of the Doha Ministerial Declaration, continued its examination of the proposals by Members, in particular on the relationship between the TRIPS Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity. The work on this issue was intensified in the recent months, leading to clarifications and technical inputs necessary to arrive at a better understanding of the concerns expressed and the solutions offered. However, further work is required. The Council agrees that this work shall continue on the basis of paragraph 19 of the Doha Declaration and the progress made in the Council for TRIPS."
