211. Reconvening the meeting on 29 November, the Chairman said that he had been keeping in touch with delegations. He had further consulted, jointly with the Chair of the General Council, to assess whether there was a sufficient basis for a final effort to seek agreement on this matter prior to Hong Kong. There had been recent developments which, in his view, justified further efforts to be made in coming days. He, therefore, proposed that the TRIPS Council once more agree to suspend its meeting so as to permit further consultations on this agenda item. He said that he would ensure that the consultations would be carried forward in a transparent manner.
