Reconvening the meeting on 6 December, the Chairman said that he was pleased to inform the Council that, in the light of the consultations that he had held, he was now in a position to seek its approval for a proposal that the Council might make to the General Council for a decision on an amendment to the TRIPS Agreement. Accordingly, he proposed that the Council decide to approve a proposal for a decision on an amendment to the TRIPS Agreement (JOB(05)/318 and Corr.1) for forwarding to the General Council.3 He also proposed that the Council approve the forwarding, along with the draft decision, of the text of a statement to be made by the Chairman of the General Council prior to the adoption by the General Council of the proposal (JOB(05)/319 and Corr.1), and the text of a statement concerning paragraph 4 of Article 31bis of the proposed amendment to the TRIPS Agreement also to be made by Chairman of the General Council prior to the adoption of the proposal (JOB(05)/320).
