83. The representative of New Zealand welcomed the Swiss proposal to host a workshop on mechanisms available to support LDCs' implementation of the TRIPS Agreement. It would be useful for LDCs and also for the broader membership, including his delegation, to have a better sense of the facilities available to help assist TRIPS implementation and how these could be accessed. He was open to suggestions regarding format, but would encourage the Secretariat to consider a means to ensure that relevant organizations could be involved, and perhaps give presentations to the membership, as well as facilitate informal discussion between interested Members. The Secretariat could consider a format similar to the Article 66.2 workshop which it organized in the margins of the Council's meeting in October 2008.
