129. The representative of China associated herself with Brazil, India and other Members in attaching importance to technical cooperation under the TRIPS Agreement. She believed that there was a general recognition in the TRIPS Council that there was a gap between developed and developing countries in terms of intellectual property and she believed that technical cooperation should and could be a necessary step in filling these gaps. She also supported the idea by Bangladesh that there should be a link between technical cooperation and transfer of technology so that the least developed country Members could benefit from technical cooperation.
