The representative of Angola, speaking on behalf of the LDC Group, supported the statement by Nigeria that had articulated the position of the African Group, and thanked the Chair for his efforts to achieve a compromise solution according to which the moratorium would either expire or be further extended. Noting that the Chair had based his evaluation on what he had heard from the majority of Members, he said that the Chair should consider suggesting that the moratorium be extended for another two years until the Ministerial Conference in 2013.
