38. The Chairman suggested that the Council continue to discuss the three agenda items together on the basis of contributions by Members as had been the practice at past meetings. He recalled that, as requested by the Council at its meeting in February 2012, he had continued his predecessor's consultations on the suggestion that the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) be invited to brief the Council on the outcome of the Nagoya meeting. He said that, unfortunately, he was not in a position to report any new developments in delegations' positions on that matter.
