Ambassador Dacio Castillo (Honduras)
10 TENTH ANNUAL REVIEW UNDER PARAGRAPH 2 OF THE DECISION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ARTICLE 66.2 OF THE TRIPS AGREEMENT
180. The representative of Bangladesh said that his delegation supported the statement made by Haiti on behalf of the LDC Group and thanked all developed country Members who had submitted reports. The new reports were markedly better than the previous ones and his delegation was very much impressed by the interest and enthusiasm that had manifested itself during the recent workshop. While there may be ambiguity regarding what constituted technology transfer, it was unambiguous that under Article 66.2 incentives were to be provided to enterprises and institutions of developed Members. This was different from the technical cooperation to be provided under Article 67, which was relevant to both developing and least developed country Members. His delegation wished to request that developed country Members emphasize the assistance specifically intended for LDCs under Article 66.2, which was distinct from Article 67. The LDC Group had further provided a new format to facilitate the submission of the report. He said that his delegation thanked the developed country Members for their continued support.
