39. The representative of Japan informed the Council that Japan would hold a WIPO Regional Forum on intellectual property policy development in Tokyo from 5 to 7 October 1998 in conjunction with WIPO. The forum would be an arena where commissioners of Asian intellectual property offices would get together and exchange opinions on such policy and on conveying its importance to policy makers of these countries.
