The main goal of the project is to support socially beneficial 3D printing in The Gambia and involves a local partner, Make3D. The establishment of a Gambian sub-regional 3D printing centre will bring the potential for the re-export of know-how and technology and thus further add value to the business sector in the target country. Based on existing experience, particularly in healthcare, education, and civil society, the project will primarily address key players for whom 3D printing offers high potential and opportunities. The project provides technology to build and develop the local 3D printing community and transfers know-how for maintaining product quality and providing support to prospective customers. It also contributes to the development of the local 3D market and community. The project will also improve many human lives not only via 3D printed prosthetics but also by promoting employment for women and creating new job opportunities.

The project aims to contribute to enhanced resilience to climate change and increased food and nutrition security of smallholder farmers in the Western Province of Zambia. This will be achieved by improving access to clean and sustainable energy and organic fertilizers for increased agricultural production, income and nutrition intake of smallholder farmers. The intervention includes four outputs focusing on increasing smallholder farmers' awareness and demand for biogas technology, increasing the capacities of providers in the area of biogas, launching of financial scheme for biogas technology, and enhancing farmers' knowledge about the use of biogas technology.

Technical capacities needed for service, repairs and operation of medical technologies are missing in many Cambodian health facilities. The lack of qualified personnel capable of correctly using the equipment prevents these facilities from working to their full potential and often hampers the functionality and sustainability of the development projects aimed at procuring high-quality medical technology. Many machines and their components are left unused in hospitals due to the absence of specialized workers – biomedical technicians and engineers. Most of these professionals are hired from abroad and their service is thus very expensive. This system does not allow for operative and flexible solutions to problems when they arise. Cambodian high school education system currently does not include any institution that would supply these specialized experts. The solution offered by this project is the introduction of a new study programme of biomedical engineering in cooperation between the Czech and Cambodian universities.
