6. Brief description
Act amending Section 43 b of the Trademarks Act, adopted on 25 August 2016/716, entry into force on 1 January 2017 - Laki tavaramerkkilain 43 b §:n muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av 43 b § I varumärkeslagen Technical amendment: reference to the Courts Act (2016/673) was changed. Act amending the Trademarks Act, adopted on 5 August 2016, 2016/616, entry into force on 1 September 2016 - Laki tavaramerkkilain muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av varumärkeslagen Amendments concerning definition of trademark and distinctiveness, scope of the Act, limitations and processing of oppositions concerning international registrations. Act amending the Trademarks Act, adopted on 31 January 2013, 2013/107, entry into force on 1 September 2013 - Laki tavaramerkkilain muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av varumärkeslagen Amendments concerning the centralisation of intellectual property matters to the Market Court. Act amending the Trademarks Act, adopted 26 November 2010, 2010/1016, entry into force on 1 January 2011 - Laki tavaramerkkilain muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av varumärkeslagen Amendments concerning obstacles of registration within the meaning of EU regulation 510/2006 on geographical indications and designation of origin for agricultural products and foodstuff. Section 14 subsection 1 paragraph 11 was amended so as to correspond to the wording of article 14 of the EU regulation. Sections 31 and 56 f concerning the appointment of a representative to represent an applicant who is not domiciled in Finland were also amended. The amendment enabled the appointment of a representative residing in any EEA country i.e. it is no longer required that the representative has to reside in Finland. Act amending Section 49 of the Trademarks Act, adopted on 14 May 2010, 2010/393, entry into force 1 December 2010 - Laki tavaramerkkilain 49 §:n muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av 49 § i varumärkeslagen Adding a new Section 49.2 to the Trademarks Act concerning a court's obligation to notify its judgements to the national information system of the judicial administration. Act amending the Trademarks Act, adopted on 21 July 2006, 2006/680, entry into force on 1 September 2006 - Laki tavaramerkkilain muuttamisesta - Lag om ändring av varumärkeslagen Amendment of the Sections related to trademark infringement and addition of special provisions concerning publications of judgements and temporary injunctions.
