The Law of Ukraine No 703-IX "On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning the Establishment of the National Intellectual Property Authority"
The Law introduces a two-tier system of state management of intellectual property, under which: - Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture ensures the development and implementation of state policy in the sphere of intellectual property; - National Intellectual Property Authority (NIPA) performs certain public functions (authority) to implement public policy such as issuance of protective documents (patents, certificates) for intellectual property; - NIPA is established under the management of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture as a legal entity of public law (state organization). The functions of NIPA is carried out by the Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property (pursuant to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No 1267-p of 13.10.2020).
