Mongolia
The Delegation of Mongolia wishes to withdraw Annex III of document IP/N/1/MNG/1 relating to the provisions of Article 70.8 and 70.9 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights. With reference to the question posed by the representative of the European Communities at the Council's meeting held on 12 May 1998 [See document IP/C/M/18, paragraph 10.], the Permanent Mission of Mongolia informs the Council that the notification in question was submitted, purely for transparency purposes, to confirm that the Patent Law of Mongolia effective from 1 September 1993 covers patent protection for pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products, and thus has no relevance to the Government's obligation to implement the TRIPS Agreement from the date of its accession to the WTO.
