With regard to Ethiopia, the Holy See and Sao Tome & Principe, which had observer status in the WTO, but were not participants in the negotiations as defined in paragraph 48 of the Ministerial Declaration (document WT/MIN(01)/DEC/1), the Chairperson said that the question of observer status for them was likely to be addressed by the TNC at a later stage, and suggested that the Special Session wait for the decision of the TNC.
