The representative of the European Communities said that his delegation had no difficulty in granting observer status or in accepting as observers the international intergovernmental organizations which had been granted such a status at the regular session of the TRIPS Council. It also hoped that progress could be made as far as the observer status for the OIV was concerned; its participation could be very valuable for the activities of the Special Session.
