6. The representative of the Philippines said that, like India, his delegation would defer to the collective judgement of the Council on the acceptance of the agenda item. However, his delegation would prefer that such a discussion be deferred until there was some commonality of views among Members and that until then no presentation would be viewed as closure to this debate. Furthermore, his delegation would also oppose the view that agreement to any presentation from Switzerland would create an expectation or an obligation for other Members to make a similar presentation.
