The Chairman recalled that, at its meeting in February, the Council had agreed that it would take up the review of TRIPS implementing legislation of Viet Nam, a newly acceded Member, at its first meeting in 2008 and that it would come back to the arrangements for this review, in particular the deadline for questions and responses, at the present meeting. As requested by the Council, the Secretariat had been in contact with the delegation of Viet Nam to draw its attention to the TRIPS obligations relating to notification of implementing legislation.
