The Chairman recalled that, at its meeting in February, the Council had agreed that it would take up the review of TRIPS implementing legislation of Viet Nam, a newly acceded Member, at its first meeting in 2008. At its meeting in June, the Council had set the following target dates for the submission of questions and answers to this review: questions were to have been submitted to Viet Nam, with a copy to the Secretariat, by 26 November 2007 and responses to questions posed within that deadline were to be submitted by 7 January 2008. However, the Council had not yet received Viet Nam's notification of its TRIPS implementing laws and regulation that would serve as a basis for the review.
