14. The representative of the European Communities welcomed Viet Nam's progress in the field of intellectual property and efforts in implementing the TRIPS provisions. He said that the European Communities and Viet Nam had built a solid cooperation over the last years in this field and he was pleased to see that this co-operation had contributed to greatly improved IP law and practice in Viet Nam. In 2007, the European Communities had carried out some 20 technical assistance activities, including seminars, training courses, workshops, study visits and expert missions, covering a wide range of IP rights, including enforcement. These kind of activities were a very useful way to exchange views and to learn from each other's experience.
