The Chairman recalled that, at its meeting in June 2008, the Council had agreed that it would take up the review of the TRIPS implementing legislation of Tonga, a newly acceded Member, at its first meeting in 2009. At its meeting in October, the Council had agreed to postpone the review until its meeting in June 2009 and set the target dates for the submission of questions and responses for that review at the present meeting. The Council had not yet received Tonga's notification of its TRIPS implementing laws and regulations. Therefore, he asked the delegation of Tonga whether it would be able to indicate when it would expect to notify its TRIPS implementing laws and regulations, as well as its responses to the Checklist of Issues on Enforcement.
