164. The representative of Tanzania, speaking on behalf of the LDC Group, thanked the Secretariat for organizing the workshop that had been very constructive and useful. He expressed his appreciation to developed country Members that had already taken positive measures and requested that they seriously consider the exchanges at the workshop.
165. At the LDC Trade Ministerial Meeting, held on 14 16 October, Ministers had urged developed country Members to effectively implement their obligations pursuant to Article 66.2 to provide incentives to enterprises and the institutions within their territories to achieve effective technology transfer to LDCs. Ministers had also requested the establishment of a monitoring mechanism to review situations where enterprises and institutions in developed country Members provided technology transfer to LDCs as a result of the incentives and the effectiveness at creating a viable technological base in LDCs.
