The representative of Angola, endorsing the statements made by Brazil, India and Egypt, said that he believed that it was very important that the CBD secretariat and two African regional intellectual property offices, the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and the African Regional Industrial Property Organization (ARIPO), be granted observer status. This would enable OAPI and ARIPO to move things forward and provide advice.
