The Chairman said that, like the annual reports on technical cooperation activities that the Council had discussed under item I, the notifications under Article 66.2 activities represented another area where the Council had produced a significant amount of invaluable documentation, containing information that could be difficult to access and review to obtain an overall picture of developments. He noted that LDC delegations had commented on that question in the past. In addition, bearing in mind the obligation on the Council, already noted under item I, to seek improvements in resources for processing and managing documentation, he proposed that the Secretariat be invited to identify ways of facilitating the submission, processing and circulation of such information, thus easing the burden for Members submitting that information and for Members consulting that information alike. The process would be undertaken without prejudice to the existing reporting framework as agreed by the Council under Article 66.2. He proposed that the Secretariat be invited to hold technical consultations with delegations and report to the Council at its next meeting.
