The representative of the European Communities said that his delegation had expressed at the past Council meetings its concerns about the compatibility of Section 211 with a number of provisions of the TRIPS Agreement. Consultations with the United States delegation had not led to a settlement. Therefore, his delegation would shortly request the establishment of a panel to examine the matter.
