The Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt presents its compliments to the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization and has the honour on behalf of the Government of Egypt to forward the following information in accordance with the provisions of Article 70.8 of the TRIPS Agreement: 1. The Egyptian Patent Office affiliated to the Academy of Scientific Research is the agency in charge of receiving patent applications for inventions in the field of pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products. The New Egyptian Patent Law, that is still under consideration, stipulates that the Egyptian Patent Office is the agency in charge of receiving all kinds of patent applications.
