The representative of the European Communities asked the delegation of Australia whether the activity that had taken place in India was similar to those that had taken place in China (paragraph 7), Indonesia (paragraph 11), Pakistan (paragraph 18), the Philippines (paragraph 19) and Viet Nam (paragraph 22). The representative of Australia said his earlier statement and the report clearly explained the nature of the assistance that Australia had been provided in a number of countries. Australia tried to speak to as many developing countries to increase knowledge and understanding of IP protection and the costs and benefits. The EC document indicated that the EC Commission and some member States had undertaken activities that seemed similar.
