103. The Chairman recalled that a list with 17 pending requests for observer status in the TRIPS Council by other intergovernmental organizations was contained in document IP/C/W/52/Rev.11. The Council had discussed these pending requests at its previous meetings, but had not been able to reach consensus on any of them. At its last meeting, the Council had requested that the Chair to continue his consultations on the request for observer status from the CBD secretariat. He said that he had been in touch with some of the delegations most interested in this matter but that, unfortunately, he was not in a position to report any developments concerning this request.
