The Chairperson recalled that, when the decision was taken at the Council's meeting in October 2009 to hold informal consultations, it was based on the clear understanding that this was a one-off event which would not prejudge the outcome. She noted that some delegations had said that they felt that more issues, including practical experiences, could have been discussed. She said that no decision regarding the appropriate way forward could be taken at this stage, as some Members wished to proceed on the basis of a workshop, whereas others preferred to look at possible ways to improve the current system. She undertook to ask the incoming Chair to get in touch with interested delegations in order to explore how best to proceed on this matter.
