The representative of Haiti said that, having heard the views of other Members, his delegation wished to underline that, for the LDC Group, development was closely tied, if not thoroughly entwined with technology and that the transfer of that technology was therefore a high priority. Consequently, the reporting requirements in question were very important to the LDC Group, as they were the only way to evaluate progress made in implementing Article 66.2. He said that reporting should serve a purpose and be worthwhile, rather than just an exercise in futility. He therefore asked the Chair to conduct consultations on the matter and requested for this matter to be put on the agenda of the next Council meeting.
