The representative of Switzerland said that the TRIPS Agreement itself required a review in the area of geographical indications separate from the examination of national implementing legislation in the area of geographical indications notified under Article 63.2. It was likely, though, that the examination of such national legislation would enhance the efficiency of the review under Article 24.2.
