The Chairman said that the Council, at its meeting in November 1996, had agreed to reserve provisionally the dates of 26-30 May, 15 July, 30 September and 24-28 November for further meetings in 1997. He suggested that the Council confirm the dates for May and July. As regards the September and November dates, he suggested some modifications in the light of developments, namely that the September meeting be held on 19 September rather than 30 September and the November meeting be brought forward by one week to the dates of 17-21 November.
