Compte rendu ‒ Conseil des ADPIC ‒ Afficher les détails de l'intervention/la déclaration

Ambassador Carmen Luz Guarda (Chile)
Chairperson
26. The Chairperson said that it was her understanding that those Members which would be willing to have their legislation subject to an early review would do so without prejudice to their entitlements to any transitional period and with a view to taking away the need for a review in the year 2000. As regards the treatment of inconsistencies with the TRIPS Agreement that might be detected as a result of the review exercise, the same procedures would apply as in the current review exercise. When delegations amended their laws in order to fully comply with their TRIPS obligations, they were expected to notify the amended laws and, if points were raised in the Council, to respond to questions that any Member might have about an amended law, not in the context of a review exercise but under the general possibility that Members had to raise matters in the Council.
