1. The Chairperson said that, in addition to the five requests for observer status from intergovernmental organizations that the Council had already received, namely from EFTA, the OAS, the OIV, SELA and SIECA, new requests had been received from the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and from the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. In the light of her informal consultations on the matter, she suggested that the Council revert to the matter at its next meeting.
