57. The representative of the Secretariat said that the Secretariat was organizing, in cooperation with the Governments of Australia and New Zealand, a seminar on the TRIPS Agreement for officials from least developed and certain other developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region to take place in Sydney from 27 April 1998 to 1 May 1998, in the context of the follow-up to the High Level Meeting on Integrated Initiatives for Least Developed Countries' Trade and Development, that had been held in October 1997. It would be a follow-up to two other workshops with a focus on least developed countries which had been held in Geneva for English-speaking and French-speaking African countries. The main financing for the event would come from the Hong Kong, China contribution to the WTO Trust Fund with additional funding from the Governments of Australia and New Zealand.
