His delegation wished to note that the United States was one of the most important partners in the international system and, as such, had a particular responsibility with regard to preserving its rules so as to avoid that unilateralism or extraterritoriality became the base for that system. His delegation urged the United States to reconsider its position in the event it was in conflict with the TRIPS Agreement.
