30. At the conclusion of the review, the representative of Australia thanked all thirteen Members under review for their constructive approach and in particular those Members, especially Korea and Singapore, which had responded to follow-up questions posed by Australia in a very timely manner. Australia expressed its appreciation to those Members which had volunteered for a review of their legislation at an early stage. Preparing for the notification and review procedures was a complex task, as Australia had found in compiling its informal survey which it had circulated as technical assistance for developing countries. Most questions in this review had been circulated subsequent to the agreed deadline allowing little time for preparation of responses. Those Members under review had also had the challenging task of responding to questions on all aspects of their intellectual property systems embracing all substantive areas of intellectual property law as well as enforcement. Despite these constraints, a great deal of useful material had been documented and reviewed in the Council, which had substantially advanced Members' collective understanding of the TRIPS Agreement and the various approaches taken in its implementation at the national level.
