Major revisions include:  Grace period of invention and utility model patent applications is extended from 6 to 12 months preceding the date of domestic filing;  There is no longer any restrictions on the types of disclosure qualified for grace period whether such disclosure is made by or against the applicant's will; and  The requirement of claiming grace period at the time of filing an application is removed. The amendment applies to applications filed on and after its effective date.
