112. The representative of the European Communities said that, with regard to costs and benefits, he associated his delegation with the statements by Hungary and Switzerland. In reply to Australia on costs for specific notifications and registrations to be borne by the user or the beneficiary, he said that his delegation had no definitive position about it but this was one possible approach; it would come up with more ideas for the next meeting. He noted with perplexity that some delegations would have problems with a registration system with legal effects for geographical indications and not for trademarks.
