The Chairperson recalled that, at the time the former Chair had proposed the arrangement for completing the Council's work on the amendment, he had made it clear that, in order to meet the new timeframe, the Council would need to work expeditiously and purposefully. In view of this, she suggested that the new Chair initiate consultations as soon as possible with a view to carrying forward this work expeditiously.
