The representative of Malaysia welcomed the African Group proposal to further the work on the amendment of the TRIPS Agreement in line with paragraph 6 of the Doha Declaration on the TRIPS Agreement and Public Health. She looked forward to a possible paper by the European Communities as this would lend momentum to the work on the amendment. She noted that there were still a number of concerns regarding the content and the form of the amendment, as well as the treatment of the Chairman's Statement. Her delegation encouraged the Chairman to continue his consultations to accelerate the process towards a solution implementing paragraph 6 of the Declaration.
