236. The representative of Angola endorsed the position of the LDC Group and other countries. The treatment granted on a meeting-by-meeting basis to ARIPO and OAPI should be extended to the CBD. He recalled that there was a pending issue in the Council relating to the relationship between the TRIPS Agreement and the CBD. The Council should remain a technical body and he considered particularly useful to give an opportunity to the CBD Secretariat to make comments.
